Zoya Nail Polish Merritt is a muted dark cherry red in a cream finish, with no shimmer or glitter. Two coats give full coverage, so your nails take on an even, deep colour.
This is the darkest of the three red shades in the Sonnet collection for autumn, and the only one without shine. Merritt stays muted and leans towards cherry, where Gael is a deep metallic red and Phyre a bright orange red. On short nails it stays quiet, on long nails it draws the eye straight away.
The formula is made without formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor and TPO. That makes this nail polish a choice you can make if you pay attention to what goes on your nails.

How many coats do I need for full coverage?
Two thin coats. Let each coat dry before you apply the next: thin coats dry faster and give a more even result than one thick coat, which lifts at the edges sooner.
Will a dark polish stain my nails?
It can: pigment from dark and bright shades sinks into the nail plate and leaves a yellow cast. A base coat prevents that, because it puts a layer between your nail and the colour.
