What is glitter mascara?

Glitter mascara is a mascara with fine glitter particles in the formula. You mostly use it as a topper: your regular mascara first for volume and length, then the glitter over the tips. That way your lashes stay full and you get sparkle on top. Some versions can be used on your brows too.

Glitter mascara or loose glitter?

Loose glitter gives the biggest effect, but you need glue and it takes time. Glitter mascara goes on in ten seconds and stays exactly where you put it. Want a full glitter look? Pair the mascara with loose glitter on your lids.

Which glitter shade suits you?

Silver and holographic give a cool, futuristic shine and work well on blue and grey eyes. Gold is warmer and makes brown and green eyes light up. Lilac and pink sit in between and are perfect if you want something playful without it being too much.

How do you apply glitter mascara?

Start with a coat of black or coloured mascara as a base. Let it dry briefly, then take the glitter over the tips of your lashes only. Want more sparkle? Add a second layer instead of pressing harder, so your lashes stay nicely separated. For extra hold, a lash and mascara primer under your base coat works well.

Removing glitter mascara

Glitter clings, so give it a moment. Press a cotton pad with makeup remover onto your closed eye for a few seconds, then wipe downwards along your lashes. Rubbing backfires and spreads the glitter across your cheek.
