Description

The MelodySusie Ceramic Nail Drill Bits Pink Fine is a ceramic drill bit in the finest of the six grits. Ceramic heats up more slowly than metal, so this is the bit you reach for when you work close to the nail plate and want a clean finish.

A fine grit takes off very little per pass. That is exactly what you want for smoothing, backfills and the last layer of gel, because you feel it sooner when you reach the natural nail. The universal 3/32 inch shank fits most electric nail drills. Note: this bit turns one way only and is meant for right-handed use.

This drill bit:

  • has a fine grit, for smoothing, finishing and backfills
  • is ceramic, which heats up more slowly than metal
  • fits at 3/32 inch on most electric nail drills
  • turns one way only, so it is meant for right-handed use
  • also works for shaping, carving and taking gel off
  • is cruelty free

How to use

  1. Click the bit into the handpiece and check that it is seated properly.
  2. Start on a low setting and keep the bit moving.
  3. Work with light pressure: the bit does the work, you only guide it.
  4. Stay off the nail plate and work along the edge and the surface.
  5. Clean the bit after every use and store it dry.
  6. Catch the filing dust with a dust collector.

Questions (3)

Which grit do I need?

Coarse takes material off fast and is what you use to break down acrylic or gel. Medium sits in between, for shaping and backfill. Fine takes off little per pass and is for smoothing and finishing. If you work on your own nail, stay with fine. All grits are at the nail accessories.

Does this bit fit my nail drill?

The shank is 3/32 inch, or 2.35 mm, and that is the size almost every electric nail drill uses. If you are not sure, check the manual of your drill or measure the opening of the handpiece. All of our nail drills work with it.

How do I clean a drill bit?

Brush the dust out, clean the bit with water and soap or a small brush, and disinfect it afterwards. Let it dry completely before you store it, otherwise moisture builds up. A bit that has been dropped is one you stop using: it can break while it spins.
