What makes a brow product vegan?
That not a single ingredient comes from an animal. With brow products it comes down to three things in practice: beeswax, which often gives a pomade or brow soap its structure, carmine (CI 75470), a red pigment made from scale insects and used in brown shades, and lanolin, a fat from sheep wool. Vegan formulas swap those for plant waxes, synthetic pigments and plant oils.
Vegan and cruelty free are not the same thing

Which shade should you pick?
The same rule as for any brow makeup: stay with your hair colour or go one shade lighter. On blonde hair a taupe or light brown works better than a grey; on dark hair one shade lighter reads more natural than black.
