Lash Separator & Eyelash Comb
Clumps in your mascara, lashes sticking together or a print on your eyelid: there are tools for that. A lash separator, an eyelash comb and a mascara guard cost very little and make the difference between a neat and a messy lash line. You'll find them together here.
Lash separator & eyelash comb
What does a lash separator do?
A lash separator is a small metal or plastic comb that you use to separate your lashes after applying mascara. It lifts out clumps and spreads the product evenly, so every lash stays visible on its own. Use it while your mascara is still wet: once it has dried you'll pull lashes out instead of separating them.
How do you use an eyelash comb?
- Straight after mascara: place the comb at the base of your lashes and draw it upwards in one slow movement.
- Inner corner outwards: work in small sections so the shape of your lash line stays intact.
- Wipe it clean: clean the comb after every use, otherwise you put old mascara back into your lashes.
Got a double-sided one? The comb side is for your lashes, the brush side for your brows.
Mascara guard: no marks on your eyelid
A mascara guard is a small shield you hold against your eyelid while you apply mascara. It lets you work right down to the root without leaving a print, so there's nothing to fix afterwards. Handy with a full brush or when you do your lower lashes.
Which one do you need?
If you mostly use volumising mascara, a metal separator works best: it gets through a thick layer. For a lengthening mascara or a light coat a plastic comb is enough. Do your lower lashes often? Add a mascara guard.
