Which hair products do you need?
A complete hair routine has four steps: cleansing, caring, nourishing and finishing. You do not need more than that. For every step you choose what suits your hair.
- Wash your hair with a shampoo that suits your scalp: mild for a dry scalp, clarifying for hair that gets greasy quickly.
- Apply conditioner after every wash to the lengths and the ends, not to your scalp.
- Use a hair mask or a hair treatment once or twice a week for extra nourishment.
- Finish with hair oil or serum on the ends, or with a leave in conditioner for extra hydration.

Hair care by hair type
Your hair shows you what it needs. Choose your products by hair type and by what you want to solve.
- Curls and waves: hydrating, gentle products. Everything that follows the rules of the method is in Curly Girl Method.
- Afro and coily hair: richer creams, oils and leave-ins. You will find those in afro and coily hair.
- Fine hair that gets greasy quickly: light formulas, and dry shampoo in between to skip a wash.
- Dry, frizzy or damaged hair: nourishing masks and oils. You can search by what you want to tackle in hair problem.

How often should you wash your hair?
Two to three times a week is enough for most hair types. If your hair gets greasy quickly, build the washing down slowly and use dry shampoo in between. With dry or curly hair you can wash less often and use a mask more often.
Hair styling, brushes and tools
Before you style your hair, protect it against heat. Always use a heat protectant before you switch on the hair dryer or straightener, and do not set your tool higher than needed. Hair dye and colour care
